CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW

In Turkish law The Consumer Protection Law (the “CPL”) applies not only to the sale of products, but also to the services rendered for customers, excluding commercial or professional activities.
A new Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 has enacted to harmonise the Turkish Code of Obligations and the Turkish Commercial Code.  There is a two way judicial system in cosumer protection and it is changed according to the amount of the dispute. The disputes are settled by the Arbitration Committee for Consumer Problems or by the Consumer Courts according to the amount of the dispute. The amounts are issued in the Official Gazzette every year.
